DTI Seminar for ADO Tenants

In the early morning of March 13, 2024 (Wednesday), a few hours before the mall opens, tenant representatives gathered in the Acienda function hall to attend DTI’s first seminar in Acienda Designer Outlet.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cavite in partnership with Acienda Designer Outlet, organized a seminar to educate and remind Acienda Designer Outlet’s tenants about the Republic Act No. 7394, also known as the Consumer Act of the Philippines. This partnership aims to empower its tenants and work together in providing its customers an excellent customer service.

Since most of the goods that are being sold in Acienda are dry goods and food, the speakers briefly discussed the first two titles of the Republic Act No. 7394 and proceeded with Title III Chapter III.

DTI Cavite specified that they have a “no wrong door” policy which means that consumer complaints that are beyond the DTI’s jurisdiction will be referred to the concerned offices or other government agencies. So, if you ever need to contact them, you can send an email to DTI Cavite at r04a.cavite@dti.gov.ph. But you also need to be informed of the different government agencies where you can file your consumer complaints based on their own jurisdictions. Find which government agency your complaint belongs to here: Complaints Handling – Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (dti.gov.ph)

The speakers also reminded the tenants that there is no such thing as 7 days warranty. The minimum warranty period is 60 days. But you must keep in mind that a warranty only works if the product does not function as originally described or intended.

DTI Cavite also stressed that it’s not ❌”The customer is always right” rather, ✔️”The customer HAS THE right”. And these are those (8) rights:

🔸 Basic Needs

🔸 Safety

🔸 Information

🔸 Choice

🔸 Representation

🔸 Consumer Education

🔸 Healthy Environment
